Ms. Caribbean Culture Queen 2010: Introducing Ms. St. Croix

news3Marcellina Ventura is a graduate of the St. Croix Educational Complex class of 2008. She is currently a sophomore at the University of the Virgin Islands as a Criminal Justice major with a concentration in Forensic Science.

Marcellina has been dancing since the tender age of six and is currently a member of the Cruzan Dance Company under the guidance of Alexander E. Simon. “Dancing allows me to express the way I feel inside.” Member of the Strictly For Youths Organization under the Young Peoples Umbrella, Marcellina believes in the betterment of our youths and finding creative outlets to allow the young minds of the Virgin Islands to expand. With her own organization on the making Y.A.R.D. (Youths Against Reckless Driving), she is focusing on the safety of young drivers on the road after losing her friend in tragic vehicle accident. “Remember that you are not only driving for yourself but others as well.”

She is currently the reigning Miss St. Croix Festival Queen and former Miss Hall Jackson Talented Teen 2007. This July she will be competing for Miss Caribbean Culture Queen in Nevis and Jaycees Caribbean Queen in Antigua.

Marcellina goes by the motto, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in time of comfort and convenience but where he stands in time of conflict and controversy.”
